White Oak Creek Greenway Trail. A six-mile hike connecting Green Level Church Road with Bond Park.

They have easy to challenging courses surrounded by beautiful views.

This summer, Cary residents can enjoy unique goods and a chance to meet with their friends and neighbors at the Cary Downtown Farmer’s market! Starting now and happening every Saturday until October 28, 2017, residents and friends from nearby cities will bring their wares to downtown Cary to sell. Vendors include local farmers, craftsmen, and artisans bringing their best products to sell to people looking to buy quality goods and support local businesses and the community. The Cary Downtown Farmer’s Market is strictly a growers-only market with no re-selling allowed, so what you buy comes directly from the vendor to you! Fans of live music should head down to Abbey Road Cary NC’s premier rock and roll music venue to catch Totally Otis playing live. While you eat and drink, you can listen to Totally Otis, a band that plays a wide range of rock music ranging from the contemporary hits to 60’s classics. 4th of July in Cary

The celebration of our nation’s independence won’t feel complete without fireworks, music, food, and other festivities. Luckily, the town of Cary organizes their own celebration for every 4th of July!

The town of Cary’s July 4th Celebration is located at the Koka Booth Amphitheater and has festivities from 3 PM to 10 PM. Performances by local school bands and the North Carolina Symphony, a circus, and a magic show by Happy Dan will take place at this family-friendly event.

If you are feeling hungry enough, you may partake in the brutal watermelon contests that are held every year. The excitement doesn’t end there, with interactive games, amusement rides complete with a Ferris wheel, and a challenging scavenger hunt available to peak your interest. At the end of the night, the fireworks display will launch at full blast into the night.

Aside from the amusements rides, the festival is free to take part in as a local or visitor!

Fun Summer Activities in Cary

Drums Along The Mohawk

The town of Cary, North Carolina is picturesque all year around, but during the summer there are lots of exciting events for every member of the family.

On July 2nd the renowned premier art house theater in town, The Cary, is showcasing the classic Drums Along the Mohawk. The John Ford spectacular, a trailblazing adventure set in the American Colonial era, makes for a perfect way to ramp up to the 4th of July. Speaking of which, on July 4th the town of Cary will have an Independence Day celebration that gets bigger every year. The gates will open at 3 pm for picnics and lawn chairs, a Ferris wheel and other activities for the kids. Later the whole family can enjoy the Cary Town Band playing down home tunes, and later in the evening, the official NC Symphony playing over spectacular fireworks.

Be sure to visit the Cary Theater on July 2nd for a heaping dose of colonial spirit and head to the Booth Amphitheater for a full blown patriotic extravaganza. Come and enjoy the summer with the people of Cary!

If you haven’t visited the Veterans Freedom Park yet, Memorial Day is the perfect opportunity.  Join others on Memorial Day, May 29th for a patriotic ceremony and celebration honoring veterans of all wars and conflicts.  The park features a memorial court of service flags from all five branches of the military leading up to a white granite spire with the five seals from each branch.

The ceremony is from 2:30 to 3:30, bring your own chair, parking at Cary Academy.
